What does Memphies stand for and how do you pronounce it?
Memphies stands for Mini Eco Monsters, Personal Helpers in Everything Sustainable. That doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue so we thought an acronym would be better as our name.
It is pronounced mem-fees. Under no circumstances is it to be pronounced like:
- Memphis, the city in Tennessee, although we’re sure it’s a nice place.
- Memphis Depay, the Dutch professional football player.
- Walking in Memphis, that famous Marc Cohn song. We admit it, we love that tune…put on my blue suede shoes…
What’s the deal with the monsters?
Our mini eco monsters are here to take away all the stress and time-consuming research involved in shopping for eco-friendly products. They’ve picked out the easiest eco-swaps that effortlessly fit in to your daily routine, without you having to compromise on quality. Because why should you compromise?
Where are you based?
Memphis HQ is based in Buckinghamshire in the UK.
How do you select the best eco products?
We’ve research and personally tried all the best products that are truly sustainable so that you don’t have to compromise on quality. All of the products have to meet our key principles below, and we’ve detailed how they do this on each product page so you can see for yourself.

How do you donate 1% of your revenues to charity?
We believe that businesses should have a purpose beyond simply making a profit. That’s why we’re a member of 1% for the Planet, with 1% of our sales revenues donated to our ethical charity partners. 1% for the Planet is founded on a simple idea: because companies profit from the resources they take from the earth, they should protect those resources. To date, 1% for the Planet has certified over £457 million in donations to environmental causes.
In order to be a member of 1% for the Planet, we’re required to submit proof of our annual revenue and donation receipts. They then independently certify that this is correct and accurate so our customers can trust our commitment to this global movement.

Delivery and Packaging
How do you deliver?
We’re lucky enough to have Brendagh, our very own electric van. This means we’re able to do all local deliveries ourselves to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible.
For deliveries further afield in the UK, we use Royal Mail. Due to their incredible coverage across the UK delivering post every day, and the focus on increasing the number of deliveries made by their posties on foot, the emissions per parcel are the lowest of any provider in the industry (based on UK publicly available emission reports). We also love the fact that our deliveries are made by the same local postman who you’re familiar with.
Where do you deliver to?
We deliver across the UK. We do not offer international shipping yet…
When can I expect my order to arrive?
Our deliveries are sent via Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked Delivery service which means you will receive your order within 2-3 days of it being dispatched. We dispatch all orders received on Monday – Friday before 1pm on the same working day. Any orders received after 1pm or over the weekend will be dispatched the following working day.
Local deliveries ordered before 1pm will be delivered the next working day, and within 2 working days if after 1pm.
How do I track my order?
You will receive a tracking number and link via email once we have dispatched your order. You will also be kept up to date via email on delivery times from Royal Mail, and given options to reschedule or leave in a safe place.
What should I do if my delivery is missing?
Please send your order details to us at info@memphies.com and we will follow up for you.
How do you package your products?
We reuse any boxes we have from our supplier orders in the first instance. It doesn’t always look amazing but we think it’s best not to waste any packaging that can still be used for its original purpose.
Our own boxes are 100% compostable, recyclable, biodegradable and free from any plastic. Even the tape we use to seal our boxes is 100% recyclable and plastic free, making it a lot easier to recycle the box once you’re done with it.
